This beautiful massive-member truss bridge is unusual because it has two main truss spans but they are separated by some approach spans, giving the bridge the appearance of being two separate bridges. It is a pleasant bridge to cross, offering so much more to look at than a modern bridge. This is an area that should interest railfans because there is an active rail yard under this bridge, and you can see a lot of it from the bridge. Pontists will appreciate this area because of these gorgeous bridges that so define the Pennsylvania experience. The trusses are Pratt through trusses with riveted connections. The structures are skewed. There is a through plate girder approach span at the northeastern end of the bridge. The spans in between the truss spans are concrete. The bridge has been altered The bridge is in excellent shape for its age, and may also be the target for a rehabilitation project. The bridge has 15.5 feet minimum vertical underclearance.
