This bridge represents a unique preservation solution. Knoebels Amusement Resort acquired this bridge and modified it to carry their park's train ride over a creek that runs through the park. The bridge retains good historic integrity, although the bridge appears to have been narrowed for reuse as part of the train ride. The bridge is a rare and highly significant example of a truss bridge with the rare patented Phoenix columns, which are used in the top chords and end posts of the bridge. The design of the pony truss bridge is similar to other pony truss bridges fabricated by the Phoenix Bridge Company (and often erected by agents Dean and Westbrook of New York, New York). The reuse of this bridge is a positive preservation outcome that enables many people to see and enjoy the bridge which is a functional part of the ride. It fits in nicely into the park, which is noted for reusing old rides from other parks, and also creating rides based on historic rides that no longer exist.
