This bridge is an example of a state standard concrete t-beam bridge. Most of these bridges tend to be smaller one or two span structures, so this four span structure is a fairly long example of its type. It retains original railings. Built in 1950 it is a late example of its type.
Information and Findings From Pennsylvania's Historic Bridge InventoryDiscussion of Bridge The inclined, 4-span, 165 '-long, T beam bridge built in 1950 is supported on a reinforced concrete substructure. A state standard design, it is finished with concrete balustrades. T beams are one of the most common, early bridge technologies utilized by the Department as it developed its state highway system in the 1920s and 1930s. It is one of over 2351 Discussion of Surrounding Area The bridge carries a 2 lane road over a stream in a sparsely developed, rural area with scattered 20th-century residences.
