This historic bridge was demolished and replaced in 2007!

Yet another historic truss bridge in Pennsylvania that was sentenced to the dumpster. This structure was a seven panel bridge that was seated on concrete abutments. It featured an a-frame portal bracing. There was v-lacing on the verticals, the sway bracing, and under the top chord and end post. The member that ran from the end post to the hip vertical / bottom chord connection was also v-laced. Diagonals and the hip vertical featured battens. Although not the rarest or oldest of Pennsylvania's bridge, this nation's truss bridge population has declined to the point that all pre-1960 metal truss bridges should be considered historic at the outset to ensure that communities everywhere can preserve and retain a historic truss bridge in their area. This bridge could have and should have been preserved.
