Located on old state highway alignment, this is an early and outstanding example of a state-designed reinforced concrete slab bridge.
Information and Findings From Pennsylvania's Historic Bridge InventoryDiscussion of Bridge The 2 span, 43' long and 25' wide slab bridge is supported on a concrete substructure and is finished with paneled parapets. It is an early and complete example of a commonly used state highway department standard design and as such is historically and technologically significant. The state highway department developed standard slab design bridges starting in the early 1910s. Discussion of Surrounding Area The bridge carries a 2 lane road over a stream in a sparsely developed, rural area with scattered early- and late-20th century residences.
