This bridge is a small example of an unusual bridge type that was mostly built during the 1930s. It is an arch bridge whose primary support comes from a series of curved metal plates that are under the bridge and look much like modern corrugated metal culvert material. There is a fill placed on top of the metal plate, and the spandrel walls are composed of stone, as are the railings. This makes the bridge look like a stone arch bridge, when it really is not a stone arch.
