Information and Findings From Pennsylvania's Historic Bridge InventoryDiscussion of Bridge The skewed single-span, 33'-long and 38' wide steel stringer bridge is supported on ashlar abutments with concrete toe walls for scour protection. It is finished with concrete balustrades. The bridge is an example of a frequently used state standard design, and it is not historically or technologically significant. It is not located in a potential historic district, which is beyond the bridge to its north. Discussion of Surrounding Area The bridge carries a 2 lane street and 2 sidewalks over a stream in Dunbar. It is just west of the intersection of SR 1053 and SR 1028. SR 1028 has a modern bridge over the creek. The potential historic district in Dunbar, an industrial and commercial regional center, is north of the SR 1028 bridge.
