This is an impressive bridge that includes a deck truss over the Sandy Lick Creek and a through truss span over what was originally the Pennsylvania Railroad. There are also numerous additional spans that are deck plate
girder spans. The bridge is supported by concrete abutments and built-up riveted steel bents. The steel bents, originally built for function only, add to the geometric art of the bridge and make it a more visually pleasing structure in
today's world of plain, nondescript modern bridges.
