This former bascule bridge has had all of its bascule-related machinery and structure removed, but still retains significance as a riveted through truss. Based on historical photos, it appears the bridge functioned as a Strauss heel-trunnion bascule bridge. Looking closely at the end of the western through truss span, you can see where the steel from the bascule steel was cut off of the bridge. Today, the bridge has the appearance of a two span through truss bridge with a short western approach span where the bascule counterweight frame once sat. The bridge is today configured as a one-lane bridge with bicycle lanes, and as such, traffic on the bridge is controlled by signal.
Lengths given are estimates.
