This is an unusual looking skewed double-intersection Warren through truss railway bridge. The concrete piers of the bridge show signs of deterioration, but the truss spans remain in good condition, aside from the bottom chord taking a beating from flood damage. Indeed, when HistoricBridges.org documented the bridge in 2019, the bridge had recently survived a major flood that occured in April 2019. Numerous branches and other debris were lodged in the side of the bridge indicating water had reached the deck level. In the photos, you will note that some freight cars were parked on the bridge over the pier points. Railroads sometimes do this to add weight to a bridge in the hope that it will help keep floodwaters from pushing the trusses off the piers. Length given is a rough estimate.
