This large deck truss bridge should be a major attraction for this trail, but no effort has been made to allow visitors to view this beautiful bridge. There are no outlook platforms on the bridge that might allow visitors to see the deck truss structure of this bridge. The approaches leading up to the bridge are fenced off and even if they were not, it would be difficult to view the bridge due to the trees and steep cliff. It would be nice to see a short side trail added that leads to a viewing area for this bridge. Even the official map for the trail system does not list the bridge as an attraction. This is a bridge with significant heritage value and it should not be ignored. It deserves to be featured as a major attraction for this trail.
This is by far one of the most dissappointing adaptive reuses of a heritage railway bridge ever seen. A review of photos on the Internet suggests that many people who visit this bridge are unable to view the trusses as well, as only on-deck views were found in the Google Maps images for the bridge.
It seems the only way to view this bridge would be by boat, or with some extreme effort along the river, perhaps only during the winter. If anyone has better photos of this bridge please contact us!
