This unusual bridge is a swing bridge that was cut in half, leaving one of the original two arms crossing the waterway. A couple gears can still be seen under the bridge. However all other traces of the swing function have been removed. The bridge is a completely fixed span now, unlike other inoperable movable bridges on this canal which may not open for boats, but still retain all the mechanical elements.
