This outstanding example of a continuous through truss stands out as the only one of its kind in this area. In 2015, it was fortunate enough to be turned into a one-way couplet, expanding the bridge's capacity and safety on this US highway. This was further complimented by a comprehensive rehabilitation of the bridge in 2019. The bridge deck was rehabilitated sensitively, with the original riveted railings retained and protected behind crash-worthy steel guardrails in front, which are not visually obstructive. No other significant alterations were noted, making this an outstanding rehabilitation case study. The bridge is in a state of preservation and would appear to have a bright future, as long as no illiterate truck drivers driving a truck over 15 feet 3 inches attempt to drive over the bridge.
BSCO Cambria brands and Bethlehem brands were noted on the bridge's steel, unsuprising given the builder of the bridge. Brown and Root of Houston, Texas was the general contractor for the bridge, and Bethlehem Steel Company of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania was the superstructure contractor.
