Bridge Documentation

This bridge is noted for its handsome ornamental details that make it stand out among the many historic concrete bridges in the area. It is also an early surviving example of a concrete t-beam bridge. Nationwide, t-beam bridges typically date to after 1920.

This bridge is also notable as the large group of bridges found over the San Antonio River near the center of the city. The impressive collection of bridges is noted for its large quantity of historic bridges, and limited number of modern bridges.

This bridge is named as the "Middle" Commerce Street Bridge because of the historic bridge to the west, and the modern 1988 non-historic bridge to the east on Commerce Street.
