This bridge appears to be a rare example of a bridge built by New York State based Groton Bridge Company in Texas. No plaque survives on the bridge. However, the bridge displays the typical distinctive details of a Groton Bridge Company bridge. These include: the unusual pedimented sway bracing, cast iron pin caps, hip vertical eyebar and its connection detail to the top chord, as well as the lattice portal bracing design which wraps around the hip vertical connection and has an unusual threaded rod connection at the top. The only detail that is atypical for Groton is the vertical members are v-laced instead of latticed, however the other unique details seem strong enough to at least assume this bridge is the product of Groton. Other bridges with these details date from 1887-1893. Thus it is assumed this bridge dates to the late 1880s or early 1890s.
