This is a large and impressive deck truss railroad bridge that was abandoned by Canadian National Railway in 1996. There are five Pratt deck truss spans on this bridge which has riveted connections. Some of the pier have been repaired with concrete, others look newer and may have been replaced with concrete. The original piers and abutments are built of stone. The bridge has a number of deck plate girder approach spans in addition to the main truss spans.
This bridge has since been beautifully converted for pedestrian use, turning this important heritage bridge into a functional attraction for the area.
