Bridge Documentation

This is one of a few bridges of heritage value found along this section of canal. Construction date is not known, the bridge dates to between 1794 and 1804.

Official Heritage Listing Information and Findings Listed At: Grade II Discussion: List Entry Number: 1068096 Details SD 80 NE CHADDERTON ROCHDALE CANAL 3/11 Scowcroft Lane Bridge G.V. II Road bridge. Between 1794 and 1804. William Jessop engineer. Hammer-dressed stone. Skew elliptical arch. Continuous band. Parapet walls have round-topped copings and square terminating piers.
