Cầu Bình Lợi crosses the Sai Gon River in Ho Chi Minh City. This bridge has a variety of spans, some of which are not original. From west to east, there is an original riveted bowstring pony truss span, a large, modern, bolted Warren through truss span, a riveted Warren through truss span that is old but not as old nor original to the bridge, an original riveted bowstring through truss span, an original riveted bowstring pony truss swing span, and an original riveted bowstring pony truss span. The original spans consist of a European style bowstring spans. The bridge was built in 1902 by Société de construction de Levallois-Perret. The bridge carried a combination of railway and highway traffic. As of 2018, a new bridge is being built next to this bridge and the bridge may be slated for demolition.
This bridge is an exceedingly rare example of a historic swing bridge in Vietnam. Although the swing span no longer opens for boats, it retains gears, rack and pinion, and rollers at the swing pier. The bridge carried railway traffic between the truss lines, with a cantilevered deck provided for motorbike traffic.
