This unique bridge with extremely unusual design was built using salvaged used railroad rails. The rails show signs of wear on the top indicating they were used rails that was repurposed to build this bridge. Stringer approach spans are also supported by steel bents composed of railroad rails. The bridge crosses a long-abandoned railroad. The rails bear 1916 dates on them, but the bridge is assumed to be newer. The railroad line was built in 1921-1922. An abandoned railroad tunnel (Maytown Tunnel) is immediately south of this bridge. This road and bridge has also been abandoned. Lengths given are estimates.
