This bridge was built ca. 1885-1890. At a later date (although still in the era decades ago when rivets were used) the bridge was widened. During this process it appears the Phoenix Columns which would have been seen as part of the original portal bracing and sway bracing were replaced with more traditional riveted beams of the needed length for the wider structure. More recently, the bridge was rehabilitated in 2006 as well. The floorbeams on this bridge are not original and are of modern construction. Consisting of H-pile and integrated into the profile of the deck stringers, this unusual flooring system design appears to offer better clearance under the bridge for trains than the original system of deck stringers bearing on a large built-up floorbeam would have. The actual truss lines retain good historic integrity and utilize the rare Phoenix columns. The ornamental portal bracing knees remain as well.
