Washington State is somewhat unusual in that as of 2014, a fair number of medium span truss bridges remained on Interstate highways. In most states, truss bridges (if any are present) are usually only found for extremely large, long-span crossings, and never for spans of this size. This section of I-82 is unusually configured. There are three crossings at this location, as well as three similar crossings in the nearby Naches River. The oldest of the trio over the Yakima River here is the bridge shown on this page built in 1932. In the background a second through truss to carry the opposite direction of I-82 was completed in 1960. Finally, more recently, a third (non-truss) bridge was built between the two truss bridges to carry WA-823... a rather unusual location since normally state highways do not run right down the median of an Interstate highway.

Due to time constraints, HistoricBridges.org only has a few overview photos of this bridge.
