This is a pair of bridges. The northbound bridge as featured here was built in 1932 to carry two-way traffic. In 1955, a plate girder was built next to it to carry southbound traffic forming a one-way couplet. The plate girder is also historically significant due to its span length, but due to a lack of photos taken of this bridge, HistoricBridges.org does not have a separate listing for this bridge. A few photos of the girder bridge are included in this bridge's photo gallery and one is shown here to the right. Oddly, Washington State had a Historic Structure Report for the girder bridge, but not one for the truss bridge. While both bridges are significant, the truss bridge has greater significance as an uncommon and early (for Washington State) surviving example of a cantilevered deck truss bridge.
