This unique section of road with three distinctly different truss bridges carrying this road over sections of the Wisconsin River is going to be totally reduced to slabs of concrete. This is a huge tragedy since Wisconsin has less historic highway bridges than other states in the Midwest, and the preservation track record is extremely poor, combined with an unusually high rate of demolition. While it is unusual for there to be multiple truss bridges on the same road, this road is even more interesting because the age of all three bridges is not the same... the southernmost bridge is from 1942 while the other two bridges are from 1932.
This bridge was built by the Clinton Bridge Works of Clinton, Iowa, more well known by its earlier name, Clinton Bridge and Iron Works.
