This bridge is a noteworthy example of a multi-span lattice through truss bridge. The bridge is unusual because its center span is shorter than the end spans, having only seven panels instead of nine. More typically if a river bridge has spans of varying size, the center span would be the longest. As a span of different size, the center span has some slightly different details than the end spans. The most notable change is that while the end spans have many built-up diagonal members that include v-lacing, the center span has no v-lacing on any diagonal members. Instead, some built-up diagonal members include cover plate. The bridge is seated on stone piers and abutments.
