This is a scan from a Times Herald newspaper showing the first Wadhams Bridge, a large wooden structure, that spanned the entire valley, much like a wooden train trestle. The date is 1912 for this photo.
This is a scan from a Times Herald newspaper showing the second Wadhams Bridge in 1914, which would have likely been taken soon after the bridge was built, considering the 1912 date of the photo above. You can see the bridge sitting on caissons, the remains of which are still visible today.
