Main span length is an estimate. An interpretive sign at the bridge reveals some information. The length of all three suspended spans is 1,800 feet. The north and south anchorages of cellular construction extend 25 feet below ground level and weigh 18,400 and 14,000 tons respectively. The main cables consist of twenty 2 1/2 inch strands, each strand having 90 wires. Cable and fittings totaled 509 tons, 3,300 tons of structural steel was used, 750 tons of reinforcing steel in the concrete. 26,000 cubic yards of concrete and 140,000 bags of cement were used. V. E. McCune was listed as Chief Engineer when this bridge was built.
