Bridge Documentation

This bridge no longer exists!

Bridge Status: Demolished and replaced in 2017.

Despite its beautiful and heritage value, this beautiful multi-span through truss was demolished and replaced. The bridge was constructed 1912-14 by the Dominion Bridge Company. It was originally known as the 105 Street Bridge. The bridge was listed on the Edmonton Inventory of Historic Resources and was designated as a Municipal Historic Resource. The bridge was in decent condition when replaced. Rather than being sent to the dumpster, it should have been left standing for pedestrian use next to the replacement bridge on new alignment, or at the very least one of the spans should have been relocated and preserved elsewhere.
