This former railroad bridge has an unusual combination of pinned and riveted connections. The southern approach spans are of interest because the original deck plate girder span appears to have collapsed long ago perhaps due to a crumbling concrete pier, and the girder remains in the river, visible when water levels are low enough! A steel bent was built on the remains of the concrete pier, and new steel spans were added.
