This bridge was demolished and replaced in 2005.

This bridge was located a few hundred feet from St. Clair City limits. Rattle Run Road is known as Clinton Avenue in the city. This bridge utilized a design that features an attractive railing design. These once-common bridges in Michigan are slowly becoming a memory as they are demolished one by one. Remaining examples also often suffer from concrete spalling which damages the appearance of the railings. This bridge was a good example of that, as the railings had spalled severely, and then modern railings were added on the inside.

As such, this bridge serves as an example of the importance of preserving remaining examples that are in good condition. For St. Clair County, that bridge is the Fisher Road Birch Creek Bridge. Although small, that bridge is in excellent condition. Its small size should also reduce preservation costs.
