This bridge is nearly identical, not only in its original design, but in the type of alteration that was done to it, to the Division Avenue Bridge. This bridge is only a year newer than the Division Avenue Bridge, although the steel beams that were added to widen the structure were added in 1959. Division Avenue in contrast, was widened in 1935. The Vienna Street Bridge has the benefit of being easier to photograph, thanks to less shrubbery and even a trail leading under the bridge.
This bridge is, like the Division Avenue Bridge, significant as a very early trunk line bridge, and an example (albeit altered) of the arch bridge technology that was designated for these early trunk lines.
