Bridge Documentation

Additional information: The approach spans on this bridge are not original and were added at a later date.

This bridge was originally built for the Minneapolis, St. Paul and Sault Ste. Marie Railroad. According to the Historic American Engineering Record inventory, the bridge was built in 1901 by the American Bridge Company at its Chicago plant. This plant was presumably the plant formerly owned by Lassig Bridge and Iron Works. The bridge is an early example of a bridge built by the 1900-formed American Bridge Company. The bridge's deck plate girder spans (all at the southwestern end) are 45 feet in length each, while the truss spans are all 100 feet each.
