The construction date for this bridge is unknown, but the unusual railing design and aged appearance of the concrete suggest this bridge dates to before 1960. It does not follow any known standard plan in Michigan. The railings are perhaps the most interesting feature of the bridge, and are similar to the concrete railings found on some bridges in the state of Oklahoma. The bridge stringers appear to be in good condition. The expansion joints on the bridge have plate steel on top of them, suggesting some deck deterioration there, and make a lot of noise when cars cross them.
