This is an increasingly rare example of a standard riveted pony truss in Missouri, and perhaps one of the only ones safe from demolition as it was moved to private property from its previous location, Perryville Road a short distance south of this location, in June 1964 from Perryville Road. It now resides on the George Heuer Farm driveway.
Lackawanna and Illinois steel brands are on the bridge. Lengths given are a very rough estimate.
Few states hate historic truss bridges with the fervor of MoDOT. MoDOT these days MoDOT will not even honor the Section 4(f) process of bridge marketing by requiring obscenely high levels of insurance that do not even exist before they will even transfer ownership. See the Route 66 Gasconade River Bridge on Bridgehunter to learn more about MoDOT's process of blocking ownership transfers with unreasonable requirements. Fortunately this bridge was moved in June 1964, long before the MoDOT lawyers hijacked the marketing process.
