This is an unaltered example of an early 1900s rivet-connected pony truss bridge. This bridge would have shipped with as many parts shop riveted as possible. The portions of the connections that had to be assembled and connected in the field on the bridge actually used bolts instead of rivets, to avoid the need to field rivet.

The Historic Bridge Inventory guesses that this bridge might have been built by the Kansas City Bridge Company, but it is unclear what distinctive details on this bridge led them to that suspicion.
