This bridge is a truss bridge with a reported construction date of 1936. The use of more rolled beams and less built-up beams than found on older truss bridges is typical for a bridge built in this period. The diagonal members and vertical members are rolled i-beams, while the top chord and end posts are built-up. An exception is the center panel diagonal members. These members, which do not need to be as heavy-duty, are instead built-up beams composed of two angles with battens. This is interesting because it demonstrates that even though with all the labor-intensive riveting that would be required to make such a built up beam, it apparently was still more economical than employing a rolled beam. Unlike today, labor was less of a cost issue than materials.
The bridge has an 18 foot roadway, narrow for a bridge of this age. By 1937, roadways were usually at least 20-22 feet wide. The bridge sits on concrete abutments.
