With its visually striking arch, this is one of the nationally significant cast iron bridges in Central Park. This bridge has a flat deck with no camber. This bridge reportedly has no official name. It is often called the Southeast Reservoir Bridge, and another worthy name might be the South Gate House Bridge as this bridge leads directly to the the South Gate House building entrance. A major rehabilitation of the bridge took place in 1989. The original railings had been replaced in years past, so exact replicas were cast by Historical Arts & Castings of Salt Lake City, Utah using the original Calvert Vaux drawings. Additional rehab took place in 2012.
