This is a good example of a state standard through truss, a type that is rapidly disappearing in New York State. The loss of these bridges is a concern, as they become more rare those which survive in an unaltered condition should be reclassified as Eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. Development of a management plan to identify the best preservation candidates would be wise as well.
