This is a rare example of a pin-connected Camelback truss in North Carolina. It was listed in HAER as having been built by the Owego Bridge Company of Wilmington, Ohio. Owego was based out of Owego, New York, so it is assumed this is what HAER meant, although the totally unrelated Champion Bridge Company of Wilmington, Ohio was also prolific in this part of the country. If the 1920 construction date is accurate, it is an exceedingly late example of a pin-connected truss.
This bridge has been bypassed and abandoned, but remains accessible to pedestrians.
