This bridge is noted for its unusually wide design and having three arch lines to accomodate this. This bridge has three spans from west to east: the main through arch span over the river, a through plate girder span over the railroad, and a concrete rigid-frame span over Front Street.

Information and Findings From Ohio's Historic Bridge InventorySetting/Context The bridge carries a 4-lane city street over the river in downtown Youngstown. Integrity Bridge being painted summer, 2008. New railings on approach spans. Summary of Significance The bridge is being painted. 2009 winner of Buckeye Assets rehab award. Justification The bridge is one of the five extant examples of the type that was used for a variety of crossing types, from major, monumental bridges like the 1917 Detroit-Superior Viaduct in Cleveland to the 1952 Gordon Park Pedestrian bridge over the Memorial Shoreway.
