This bridge was in 2012 one of two similar pony truss bridges from the mid-20th Century in Morrow County. The other example was slated for replacement in 2012 however which makes this the only remaining example of this bridge style in the county, which is quite different from earlier truss bridges built in the county.

Information and Findings From Ohio's Historic Bridge Inventory

Setting/Context

The bridge carries a 2 lane road over a stream in a rural area of active farms.

Summary of Significance

The one span, riveted, 79.5' long, riveted, Warren pony truss bridge with polygonal upper chords has rolled section for the members. It was fabricated for the county in 1953 by the Edwards Sheet Metal Works of Frederickton. It has concrete abutments and a laminated wood deck. The bridge has no innovative or distinctive details and is an example of a type and design that was common by 1910.
