Bridge Documentation

This multi-span high level deck plate girder bridge is supported by handsome stone piers. Bridges from ca.1855 were built on this section of railway and the piers may date to this period. There are newer looking concrete footings directly under the bridge. It is possible these were used for temporary falsework when the plate girder spans were erected here, but this is just speculation.
