This bridge is one of Portland's younger historic bridges, with a 1958 construction date. It offers an interesting comparison to the similar, but older, Burnside Bridge located nearby. Note that the bridge "proper" in structure inventories only includes 760 feet of bridge: the bascule span and two deck truss spans. The total length given here includes the ramp from from Morrison Street on the east end and the ramp to Washington Street on the west end. Note that there are additional ramps to other roads which would have varying lengths.
