Thanks to Chip from SLH contracting for informing HistoricBridges.org of this bridge, and providing some pictures they took during the demolition and replacement of the bridge. This bridge was replaced in the 1980s, and this page has several pictures that show the bridge as it was being torn down. The bridge was a very large plate girder bridge, and appears to have had three spans. Highway plate girders are quite rare in Michigan, although they were common in other states such as Pennsylvania and New York. The McCabe Road bridge is an example of a smaller, but still standing highway plate girder bridge in Michigan.
