Information and Findings From Pennsylvania's Historic Bridge Inventory Discussion of Bridge The 2 span, 146'-long reinforced concrete deck arch bridge is finished with paneled concrete parapets with center-of-span balustrade panels. Whalers have been added to the structure to stabilize the spandrel walls. There are also shotcrete repairs. The bridge is similar to 53 0895 0390 0408 which is downstream. Both are county bridges. Neither the bridge nor its setting are historically or technologically significant. Deck arch bridges with greater than 100' span lengths were common by 1912. Discussion of Surrounding Area The bridge carries a 2 lane road with one sidewalk over the Schuylkill River in the borough of Landingville, which is dominated by extensively altered buildings. To the south of the bridge is a modern house and a ball field. The north side is wooded. The area does not have historic district potential. Bridge Considered Historic By Survey: No
