This railway bridge exists today as a combination of truss spans and plate girder spans. The plate girders are of modern welded and bolted construction and not original to this bridge. The truss spans are at the west end of the bridge, mostly over land, while the plate girder spans are over the river. It is assumed the spans over the river were once truss spans as well, and have been replaced, perhaps due to flood damage for instance. Lengths given are an estimate. There is another smaller truss span located a short distance west of this bridge over Le Petit Chenal, which was not photographed by HistoricBridges.org. If anyone has photos of that bridge please contact us! We also would welcome more photos of this bridge as well, as only a few overview photos from the nearby highway bridge are currently available.
