This truly unique bridge is noted for its extreme skew, which includes a bizarre half approach span. At the south end of the bridge, the unique through plate girder half approach span is present. On the east side of the roadway, their is a plate girder. However on the west side of the roadway, the floorbeams extending from the girder rest on the abutment, with no girder at all. The main truss span is a polygonal Warren pony truss with an unusually long horizontal section of top chord. Even more unusual is that the truss configuration is a Warren with no vertical members. The roadway seen today is two lanes, but the bridge was originally designed for three lanes, which explains why there is a gap between the eastern truss and girder and the roadway. The bridge has a very interesting railing design, which is also concrete (unusual to find on a steel bridge).
