Bridge Documentation

This bridge has a vibrant paint scheme that draws viewers to its many ornamental details, from the railing to the little flowers on the spandrel bracing and arch ribs. It is a fine example of an iron arch bridge, among the most beautiful of this bridge type in London. The fascia arch rib and spandrel is composed of cast iron. The interior arch ribs in contrast are of riveted wrought iron. In 1907-1910 the bridge was widened from 70 feet (21 meters) to 105 feet (32 meters).
