This stone-faced brick arch bridge is noted for is impressive length and high elevation. Construction started in 1847 and was completed by 1850. The railway is 121 feet above the river.

1847 by Robert Stephenson. 28 high round arches (stone-faced brick) on stone piers, 126 feet above the river. Fine monumental work.
