This abandoned pony truss bridge was built by the Walker Brothers, a mysterious company that either used or copied Groton Bridge Company of Groton, New York. See Maust Bridge discussion. In the case of this pony truss, Walker Brothers installed a builder plaque shaped and located in the same place as a Groton Bridge, on the top chord. The assumption has always been that Groton fabricated bridges for Walker Brothers, and Walker Brothers erected them. This is supported by the fact that Groton was known to have a fabrication plant, while to date most examples of Walker Brothers bridges are found in and near to the state of West Virginia, as one might expect for an on-site contractor.
This bridge was bypassed and abandoned in 1991. The truss bridge reportedly dates to ca. 1900,
