One of the only examples of the unusual patented Lane truss design, this bridge was preserved in place for pedestrians. The bridge's builder plaque was destroyed, which is unfortunate given the rare builder West Virginia Bridge Works of Wheeling, West Virginia. The builder is also unusual among Lane truss bridges since the patent-holder for the bridge design was a different company: Lane Bridge Works of Painted Post, New York. The trusses retain excellent historic integrity and convey the patented design very well.
